West Heslerton is a Fairtrade School. This means we learn about the Fairtrade Foundation and promote the work of this charity to help us to help other people. We hold regular events, including Fairtrade stalls and raffles to remind people of the choices we can make to help others.

We hold regular Fair-trade Stalls at Christmas and during Fair-trade Fortnight. Please see newsletters for dates.

Our Fairtrade Stall:

"The Fairtrade stall is a really good idea, it helps us raise money for those less fortunate." Year 4 girl.

"I think we should do more of these [Fairtrade] stalls - we earn lots of money for others and ourselves and we get to experience working in a shop." Year 5 boy

"I like the stall. It's a time to shop with brothers and sisters for all the family." Year 5 boy

"[Our Fairtrade stall is] cool. We can buy surprises for parents and they don't know what we've bought." Year 5 girl.

"We really get to help the people who grew the cocoa beans." Year 1 girl.

"It's a great way to fundraise for Fairtrade and it's so ethical!" Year 5 boy

"You can buy a gift and make someone's day!" Year 2 girl.
